OnlyService: a bot that tracks chatter shifts on its own
Elvisupdated 5 min read
A Telegram bot for monitoring chatters, plus a browser extension: shifts are tracked automatically, and reports show where the revenue came from.

The challenge
The head of a chatter team needed to see who was working right now, how much they had earned and where the revenue came from. Before, this data had to be gathered from chatters' own manual reports.
A spreadsheet doesn't help here. Someone still has to fill it in, and the numbers are whatever the chatter typed, typos and gaps included. The team lead needed a data source that didn't depend on how careful any one person was.
The team needed a tool that collects the data on its own, without the chatter's involvement, and sends the team lead a clear report where they already spend their time, which is Telegram.
The solution
I built the bot in Python with Aiogram 3, PostgreSQL and Redis. The bot tracks shifts and sends earnings reports. The team lead doesn't have to wait for messages from chatters: the data arrives on its own.
I added a Chrome extension to the bot. It syncs data from the platform, so the numbers in reports come from the chatter's actual work, not from what they say. Data exchange runs over REST API and WebSocket.
I split the job into two parts. The extension collects data in the browser where the chatter works, and the bot handles tracking and reports. Chatters keep working as before, and the team lead gets reports without any extra steps on the chatters' side.
How the system works
Automatic chatter shift tracking
Shifts are tracked automatically, and chatters don't have to clock in by hand. The team lead sees who is working right now. When a shift starts, it shows up in the bot immediately, without calls or chat messages.
The browser extension syncs data from the platform, and the bot receives it without the chatter's involvement. This removes the weakest link in the process, the manual report.
Revenue report: subscriptions, tips and paid content
Reports break revenue down by transaction type: Subscriptions, Tips and paid content (PPV). The team lead sees the total and understands where it came from. The numbers come from the platform through the extension, not from manual entry.
This breakdown helps you figure out what's working. If revenue grew because of tips while paid content sales dropped, you see it right away.
A Telegram bot for monitoring chatters
All work with reports happens in Telegram, with no separate dashboard to open. Data is stored in PostgreSQL and Redis.
The bot's interface is in Russian and English, so both Russian-speaking and international teams can use it. That helps when one team has people from different countries.
Why chatter reports come to Telegram
A team lead already spends the whole day in Telegram: that's where the chats with chatters and the work groups are. So I put the reports there too, and they don't need to keep yet another dashboard open.
The bot shows what the team lead used to piece together from chatters' messages: who is working, how much they earned and which transaction types made up the total. More than 50 chatters are currently tracked through the system.
Referral program
The bot has a built-in referral program that lets users invite others to it. The program terms can be configured to fit the product's goals.

Who it is for
Teams with chatters on shifts who need clear revenue numbers without manual reports. Especially teams that have grown so large the lead no longer has time to cross-check every chatter's messages.
Project FAQ
How do I start using the bot?
The bot is available in Telegram, and the link is on the project page. To sync data you'll need to install the Chrome extension. If your team is large, it's better to message me first so we can discuss the setup.
Can you build a similar bot for my team?
Yes. The set of reports, the languages and the shift tracking logic can be built around your processes. Message me on Telegram at @ElvisOnlyDev, tell me about your team, and I'll propose a plan.
What is the bot built with?
Python and Aiogram 3, with data stored in PostgreSQL and Redis. The Chrome extension sends data over REST API and WebSocket.
What data does the team lead see in the reports?
Which chatters are working, how much each one earned and how revenue splits into subscriptions, tips and paid content. The data comes from the platform through the extension, with no manual entry.
