OnlyLocus: search across 4.5 million profiles

A searchable directory of OnlyFans models with filters by category, country and city, four interface languages and fast results on large data volumes.
The challenge
The job was search over a very large profile database. It had to respond fast, get indexed well by search engines and work comfortably on a phone.
A regular site with one search bar doesn't work here. People often don't know the username and search by content type, looks or city. That means categories and location filters that can be combined.
The second part of the job was traffic. The directory lives on search engine traffic, so every category and every city has to be its own page that a crawler can see. Without that, the directory stays invisible to search no matter how many profiles it holds.
The solution
I built the platform on Next.js and TypeScript with server-side rendering. Category and location pages are rendered on the server, so search engines get finished HTML and users see content immediately. For a directory that lives on search traffic, this is the foundation: each category and each city gets indexed as a separate page.
Filters stack: category, city, price, free access. Each combination opens as its own page, which you can bookmark and share as a link.
The interface is translated into English, French, Spanish and German, and there's a dark theme and favorites without sign-up. I didn't build payments or login on the site: the directory sends visitors to the creator's OnlyFans page.
How the system works
Find OnlyFans models by category
Categories are grouped by meaning: looks, body type, content style, fetishes. Each one shows how many models it contains, so people find what they want without endless scrolling.
Search accepts a name, a username or a content type. That covers the case where someone has no username, only a rough idea of what they want. A category filter can be narrowed down by country or city right away, and those results also open as a separate page.
Search by country, state and city
Profiles are tied to countries, states and cities. You can open a location page or type a city into search, and for people looking close by there's a "Near me" section.
Country and city pages are also rendered on the server. For SEO this means lots of landing pages for queries like "models from [city]".
Rankings by real popularity, not by ads
Rankings are based on real metrics: likes, subscribers, amount of content. Sorting puts the most popular profiles first, and each card shows the subscription price, likes and a verification badge.
Paid promotion exists too, but those profiles sit in the top row with a "promoted" tag. Visitors can see what's an ad and what's organic.
Favorites without sign-up, four languages and dark theme
You can add a profile you like to favorites right away, without creating an account. Saved models stay in one place and are still there on your next visit. Search, filters and favorites all work without an account or payment.
The interface is available in four languages, and dark theme is one click away. The directory is as easy to use on a phone as on a computer.

Can a creator remove their profile from the directory?
Yes. The request is sent from the account itself or through the DMCA page, and then the profile is removed. The directory is independent and not affiliated with OnlyFans.
